WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Urinary tract infections
• Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Infections of the prostate
• Certain sexually transmitted infections
• Infections of the gut and abdomen when prescribed

HOW IT WORKS

• Ofloxacin belongs to a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones
• It blocks enzymes bacteria need to copy their DNA
• This stops bacteria from multiplying and eventually kills them
• It works only against bacteria, not viruses

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor

• Avoid taking it with dairy products, antacids, or mineral supplements at the same time, as they can reduce absorption; leave a gap of a few hours
