This combination is mainly prescribed to treat high blood pressure that is not adequately controlled with a single medicine.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Managing high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Reducing risk of stroke and heart-related complications from long-term high blood pressure
• Used when treatment with a single blood pressure medicine is not enough

HOW IT WORKS

• Olmesartan blocks angiotensin II, a chemical that narrows blood vessels, helping vessels relax
• Amlodipine blocks calcium entry into blood vessel walls, causing them to widen
• Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for emergency treatment of very high blood pressure crisis
• Not a painkiller or fever medicine
• Not used to treat heart rhythm problems

• Very low urine output or swelling suggesting kidney problems

How to Use OLKEM AM 40MG Tablets (OLMESARTAN 40MG+AMLODIPINE 5MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well
• Continue taking it regularly, as it controls blood pressure but does not cure the underlying condition

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, light and moisture
• Keep the strip in its original packaging until use
• Keep out of reach of children and pets

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to olmesartan, amlodipine or other similar medicines
