Olmesartan Medoxomil 40mg is mainly used to control high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating high blood pressure
• Sometimes used along with other blood pressure medicines for better control
• Helping reduce the risk of heart and kidney complications linked to long-term high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks the action of a natural chemical called angiotensin II
• This chemical normally causes blood vessels to narrow
• By blocking it, blood vessels relax and widen
• This lowers the pressure of blood flowing through the vessels

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for immediate relief of a sudden hypertensive emergency
• Not a painkiller or fever medicine

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day

IF YOU MISS A DOSE
