WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Ear, nose and throat infections like tonsillitis and sinusitis
• Urinary tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Uncomplicated gonorrhea in some cases

HOW IT WORKS

• It belongs to a class of antibiotics called cephalosporins
• It stops bacteria from building their protective outer wall
• Without this wall, the bacteria cannot survive and die off
• This helps clear the infection and reduce symptoms like fever and pain

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It does not work against viral infections such as flu or common cold

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Can be taken with or without food, but taking it with food may reduce stomach upset
• Take it at the same time each day to maintain steady levels in the body
• Do not stop the course early even if symptoms improve, unless your doctor tells you to
• Complete the full prescribed duration to prevent the infection from coming back or bacteria becoming resistant

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
