WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Respiratory tract infections such as tonsillitis and bronchitis
- Ear infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Bone infections
HOW IT WORKS
- Cephalexin belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics
- It works by preventing bacteria from forming their protective cell wall
- Without a proper cell wall, the bacteria are unable to survive and multiply
- This helps the body's immune system clear the infection
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not effective against viral infections like common cold or flu
- It does not work on fungal infections
- It should not be used to self-treat infections without medical advice
- It is not a painkiller and does not treat fever alone without an underlying bacterial cause

How to Use PHEXIN KID TABLET (CEPHALEXIN 125MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor
- It can be taken with or without food, but taking it with food may reduce stomach upset
- Complete the full course even if you feel better before finishing it
- Do not stop the medicine early as this can lead to the infection coming back or becoming resistant
- Shake the syrup well before use if using a liquid form
- Use the measuring cup or spoon provided for accurate dosing
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- If using a reconstituted syrup, check the label for how long it can be stored, usually within a limited number of days, and keep it refrigerated if advised

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT
- Metformin, as cephalexin may affect its levels
- Probenecid, which can increase cephalexin levels in the body
- Blood thinners such as warfarin, as effects may be altered
- Other antibiotics, unless specifically prescribed together by your doctor
