Uses and Benefits of R2-5MG TABLET (ROSUVASTATIN 5MG)

Rosuvastatin 5mg is mainly used to treat high cholesterol levels and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides
• Increasing HDL (good) cholesterol
• Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke, and other heart problems in people with risk factors
• Managing cholesterol along with diet and lifestyle changes

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks an enzyme in the liver called HMG-CoA reductase
• This enzyme is needed to make cholesterol
• By blocking it, the liver produces less cholesterol
• The liver then removes more LDL cholesterol from the blood

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a painkiller or emergency treatment for chest pain
• It does not cure heart disease, only helps control cholesterol
• It is not used for weight loss
• It is not a substitute for diet and exercise changes advised by your doctor

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Unusual tiredness combined with fever and muscle problems

How to Use R2-5MG TABLET (ROSUVASTATIN 5MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet whole with water, do not crush or chew unless advised
• Try to take it at the same time each day for best results
• Continue taking it even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs regular use
• Do not stop without talking to your doctor
