How to Use RAMITAX 8MG TABLET (RAMELTEON 8MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Take it shortly before you plan to go to bed, on an empty stomach or after a light meal, as advised
• Do not take it with or immediately after a heavy or fatty meal, as it may reduce its effect
• Do not take an extra dose if you wake up in the middle of the night
• Ensure you can devote a full night's sleep (several hours) after taking it, as it may cause next-day drowsiness otherwise

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• If you forgot to take it at bedtime and remember later in the night, skip the missed dose
• Do not take it if there is not enough time left for a full night's sleep
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight
• Keep the medicine in its original pack, out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use the medicine after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to ramelteon or any of its ingredients
• Have severe liver disease
• Are already taking another medicine called fluvoxamine

• Have a history of depression, mood disorders, or suicidal thoughts

MEDICINES THAT CAN INTERACT

• Fluvoxamine and other strong CYP1A2 enzyme inhibitors
• Ketoconazole and similar antifungal medicines
• Rifampicin and other enzyme-inducing medicines
• Other sleep medicines, sedatives, or alcohol, as combined use can increase drowsiness
