WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of pulmonary and certain forms of extra-pulmonary tuberculosis
• Used in combination with other anti-TB drugs as part of a complete treatment course

HOW IT WORKS

• Rifampicin stops the TB bacteria from making proteins needed to survive and multiply

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless instructed
• Do not stop the medicine even if you feel better — complete the full course as advised
• Take at the same time each day to maintain a regular routine

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• Missing doses can allow bacteria to become resistant, so try not to skip doses
