Uses and Benefits of RCINEX Z KID TABLET (ISONIAZID 100 MG + PYRAZINAMIDE 50 MG + RIFAMPICIN 300 MG)

This combination medicine is used to treat active tuberculosis (TB) infection, usually during the intensive phase of treatment.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of pulmonary and certain extra-pulmonary forms of tuberculosis
• Used as part of a multi-drug regimen prescribed by a TB specialist or under national TB programmes
• Helps prevent the TB bacteria from developing resistance to single drugs

HOW IT WORKS

• Isoniazid and Rifampicin kill actively multiplying TB bacteria
• Pyrazinamide works well in acidic environments, killing bacteria hiding inside cells
• Together, the three drugs attack the bacteria through different mechanisms, making treatment more effective and reducing chances of drug resistance

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for common cold, cough, or ordinary bacterial infections
• Not a treatment for viral infections
• Not to be used for latent TB without doctor's specific advice
• Not meant for self-medication or short-term use without diagnosis

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (signs of liver damage)
• Severe stomach pain or persistent vomiting
• Unexplained fever, bruising or bleeding
• Severe skin rash, blistering, or peeling skin
• Vision changes or blurred vision
• Signs of severe allergic reaction such as swelling of face/throat, difficulty breathing

How to Use RCINEX Z KID TABLET (ISONIAZID 100 MG + PYRAZINAMIDE 50 MG + RIFAMPICIN 300 MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Preferably take on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless instructed
• Do not stop the medicine even if you feel better - complete the full course as advised
• Avoid alcohol during treatment as it increases risk of liver problems

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one
• Try to take doses at the same time each day to maintain consistency

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, sunlight and moisture
• Keep in original packaging until ready to use
• Keep out of reach and sight of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to Isoniazid, Pyrazinamide, Rifampicin, or any other ingredient
• Have severe active liver disease
• Have acute gout (due to Pyrazinamide)

• Have any history of liver or kidney disease
• Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
