Uses and Benefits of RIVAZEST 2.5MG TABLET (RIVAROXABAN 2.5MG)

Rivaroxaban 2.5mg is used to help prevent serious blood clot problems in people with heart and blood vessel disease.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• To reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other clotting problems in people with coronary artery disease or peripheral artery disease
• Often given together with low-dose aspirin as advised by the doctor
• Used in some patients after procedures on blood vessels of the legs to prevent clot-related complications

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks a clotting factor called factor Xa in the blood
• This reduces the blood's ability to form clots
• This helps prevent blockage of blood vessels that can lead to heart attack or stroke

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a painkiller and does not treat chest pain directly
• It is not used to treat infections

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush unless your doctor tells you it is safe to do so
• Take it at the same time each day to maintain steady effect
• Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor, as this can increase clot risk
• Do not change the dose on your own

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
