Rosuvastatin 10mg is mainly used to treat high cholesterol levels and to reduce the risk of heart-related problems.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides
• Raising HDL (good) cholesterol
• Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular events in people with heart disease or risk factors
• Managing cholesterol along with diet and lifestyle changes

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase in the liver
• This enzyme is needed to make cholesterol
• By blocking it, the liver makes less cholesterol and removes more from the blood

• It is not a painkiller or immediate treatment for chest pain

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
• Can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
• Try to take it at the same time every day
• Continue taking it even if you feel well, since cholesterol control needs regular use
• Do not stop without talking to your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in original packaging until use
