Uses and Benefits of RRB 15MG TABLET (RIVAROXABAN 15MG)

Rivaroxaban 15mg is used to treat and prevent blood clot-related conditions.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
• Treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE)
• Prevention of stroke and blood clots in people with atrial fibrillation not caused by a heart valve problem
• Prevention of blood clots after certain orthopaedic surgeries, as advised by your doctor
• Reducing the risk of recurrent blood clots after initial treatment

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks a clotting protein called factor Xa
• This reduces the blood's ability to form clots
• It helps prevent existing clots from growing larger
• It lowers the risk of new clots forming in blood vessels

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used to dissolve an existing large clot immediately (it is not a clot-buster)
• It is not used for minor cuts or wounds
• It is not a painkiller and does not treat pain directly
• It is not used in patients with artificial heart valves

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Easy bruising
• Nosebleeds
• Bleeding gums
• Nausea
• Headache

LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Skin rash or itching
• Stomach pain or indigestion
• Low blood pressure
• Blood in urine (pink or red colored urine)
• Swelling of arms or legs

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Heavy or uncontrolled bleeding from any site
• Blood in stools or black, tarry stools
• Vomiting blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
• Sudden severe headache, confusion, weakness, or difficulty speaking (signs of bleeding in the brain)
• Coughing up blood
• Signs of severe allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, or throat, and difficulty breathing
• Unusual weakness, pale skin, or breathlessness (signs of severe anemia from internal bleeding)

How to Use RRB 15MG TABLET (RIVAROXABAN 15MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor
• Swallow the tablet with water, generally with food to improve absorption
• Take it at the same time every day to maintain steady blood levels
• Do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor, as this can increase clot risk
• Do not crush or break the tablet unless your doctor or pharmacist tells you it is safe to do so
• Continue the full course of treatment as advised, even if you feel well

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• If you are unsure, contact your doctor or pharmacist for guidance

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture
• Keep the tablet in its original packaging until ready to use
• Keep out of reach and sight of children

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are currently experiencing active, serious bleeding
• Have a known allergy to rivaroxaban or any ingredient in the tablet
• Have severe liver disease with bleeding risk
• Have an artificial (mechanical) heart valve
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless specifically advised by your doctor

TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU

• Have kidney or liver problems
• Have a history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding
• Are scheduled for any surgery or dental procedure
• Have high blood pressure that is not well controlled

• Certain antifungal medicines like ketoconazole

• Herbal supplements like St. John's Wort
