This medicine is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, especially when blood sugar is not well controlled with a single medicine alone.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes
- Used along with diet and exercise as advised by your doctor
- Sometimes used together with other diabetes medicines
HOW IT WORKS
- Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin
- Sitagliptin increases natural hormones that help control blood sugar after meals
- Metformin reduces sugar production by the liver and improves how the body uses insulin

- Not used for type 1 diabetes
- Not used for diabetic ketoacidosis, a medical emergency

- Signs of very low blood sugar like confusion, sweating, or fainting

HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with meals to reduce stomach upset
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew
- Do not skip meals after taking this medicine, as it can cause low blood sugar
- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
