Uses and Benefits of SUPANAC TABLET (DICLOFENAC 50MG)
Diclofenac 50mg is commonly prescribed to relieve pain and inflammation associated with various conditions.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis pain
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Acute musculoskeletal pain such as sprains and strains
- Post-operative pain and swelling
- Menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)
- Pain after dental procedures
HOW IT WORKS
- Blocks enzymes called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) that produce prostaglandins
- Prostaglandins cause pain, swelling, and inflammation
- By reducing prostaglandins, it lowers pain and inflammation
- Also helps reduce fever in some cases
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for treating infections
- Not a cure for arthritis, only relieves symptoms
- Not recommended for long-term daily use without medical supervision
- Not suitable for children unless specifically advised by a doctor
- Not used to prevent heart disease or stroke

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Stomach pain or discomfort
- Nausea

- Diarrhoea or constipation

- Dizziness
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS
- Skin rash or itching
- Fluid retention causing swelling in ankles or feet
- Increased blood pressure
- Ringing in the ears
- Drowsiness
SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Black or bloody stools, or vomiting blood (signs of stomach bleeding)
- Severe stomach pain
- Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
- Chest pain, shortness of breath, or sudden weakness (signs of heart or stroke problems)
- Severe skin reaction with blistering or peeling
- Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing (allergic reaction)
- Sudden decrease in urine output

How to Use SUPANAC TABLET (DICLOFENAC 50MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
- Take with food or milk to reduce stomach irritation
- Do not crush or chew unless your doctor says it is safe to do so
- Do not take more than the prescribed dose or for longer than advised
- Avoid lying down immediately after taking it
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
- Continue your regular dosing schedule after that
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
- Keep in a dry place, away from moisture
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
- Dispose of unused or expired medicine safely, do not flush it down the drain

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to diclofenac or other NSAIDs like aspirin or ibuprofen
- Have active stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding
- Have severe heart failure
- Are in the last trimester of pregnancy
- Have severe kidney or liver disease
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have a history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Have heart disease, high blood pressure, or history of stroke
- Have kidney or liver problems
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Are elderly, as risk of side effects may be higher
- Have asthma or nasal polyps
