This medicine is used to treat malaria, a disease caused by parasites spread through mosquito bites.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of uncomplicated malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum
• Treatment of uncomplicated malaria caused by Plasmodium vivax
• Combination treatment to reduce chances of drug resistance

HOW IT WORKS

• Arterolane is a fast-acting component that quickly reduces the number of malaria parasites in the blood
• Piperaquine stays in the body longer and clears remaining parasites, preventing early recurrence
• Together they provide a complete course of treatment against the malaria parasite

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for severe or complicated malaria requiring injectable treatment
• Not used to prevent malaria before travel to malaria-prone areas
• Not used for viral fevers, typhoid, dengue or other non-malarial infections
• Not a substitute for mosquito-bite prevention measures

How to Use SYNRIAM 150/750MG TABLET (ARTEROLANE + PIPERAQUINE)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day for three days
• Take it on an empty stomach, generally at least three hours after food, unless your doctor says otherwise
• Swallow the tablet with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Complete the full course even if you feel better after one or two doses
• Avoid fatty foods around the time of dosing as they may increase absorption unpredictably

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue the normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
• Inform your doctor if you miss more than one dose

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original pack until it is time to take the dose
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have a known heart rhythm disorder such as long QT syndrome
