This medicine is a combination of two antibiotics used to treat moderate to severe bacterial infections, particularly when a broad-spectrum effect is needed.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Urinary tract infections
• Typhoid fever
• Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis
• Ear, nose and throat infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Infections of the reproductive tract

HOW IT WORKS

• Cefixime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall, causing them to die
• Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that blocks enzymes bacteria need to copy their DNA, stopping them from multiplying
• Together they cover a broader range of bacteria than either drug alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Viral infections such as common cold, flu, or most sore throats
• Fungal infections
• As a general painkiller or fever reducer
• Prevention of infection without doctor's advice

• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (liver problems)
• Tendon pain, swelling, or sudden difficulty moving a joint
• Unusual weakness, tingling, or seizures
• Irregular heartbeat or palpitations
• Severe skin reaction with blistering or peeling

How to Use TAXIM OF TABLET (Cefixime 200mg + Ofloxacin 200mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice a day
• Can be taken with or without food, but taking it at the same time each day helps you remember
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Drink plenty of water while on this medicine
• Complete the full course even if you feel better before finishing it
• Do not take antacids, iron, or calcium supplements at the same time as this medicine; leave a gap of a few hours

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are under 18 years of age, unless prescribed by a specialist
