This combination medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure in adults who are not adequately controlled on a single medicine alone.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough to control levels
• Helps reduce risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney problems linked to long-term high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Telmisartan blocks a hormone called angiotensin II, causing blood vessels to relax and widen
• Hydrochlorothiazide acts on the kidneys to increase removal of salt and water from the body
• Together they reduce the volume of blood and the pressure on blood vessel walls, lowering blood pressure

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for emergency lowering of dangerously high blood pressure
• Not a painkiller or fever medicine
• Not used to treat infections
• Not recommended for use in pregnancy or during breastfeeding
• Not intended for children

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Dry mouth or excessive thirst
• Diarrhoea or upset stomach

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY

• Signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, or throat, or difficulty breathing
• Severe dizziness, fainting, or irregular heartbeat
• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Very little or no urination
• Signs of high potassium or low sodium such as severe weakness, confusion, or muscle cramps
• Severe skin reaction with blistering or peeling

How to Use TELDAY H TABLET (Telmisartan 40mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• It can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking it suddenly even if you feel well, as blood pressure can rise again
• Continue regular blood pressure checks and follow-up visits as advised by your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the medicine in its original strip or container until it is time to take it
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are pregnant or planning pregnancy
• Are breastfeeding
• Have severe liver disease or bile duct blockage
• Have severe kidney disease or produce very little urine
• Are allergic to telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or sulfonamide-related medicines
