WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when blood pressure is not controlled by one medicine alone
• Sometimes used to reduce the risk of heart-related complications in people with high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II, a chemical that narrows blood vessels, helping vessels relax
• Amlodipine blocks calcium channels in blood vessel walls, causing vessels to widen
• Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for sudden emergency lowering of very high blood pressure
• Not a treatment for chest pain occurring suddenly (angina attack) at the time it happens

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Try to take it at the same time every day to build a routine
• Do not stop taking it suddenly even if you feel well, as blood pressure can rise again

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
