Uses and Benefits of TELEACT CT LS 40MG TABLET (TELMISARTAN + CHLORTHALIDONE)

This combination medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure that is not controlled by a single medicine alone.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Long-term control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when one blood pressure medicine alone is not enough
• May be used to reduce risk of stroke and heart problems linked to high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Telmisartan blocks a hormone called angiotensin II, which relaxes and widens blood vessels
• Chlorthalidone is a diuretic (water pill) that makes the kidneys remove extra salt and water
• Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not a painkiller and does not treat pain or fever
• Not used for immediate emergency lowering of dangerously high blood pressure
• Not a cure for hypertension; it only controls it, so it must be taken long term as advised
• Not recommended for use during pregnancy

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (liver problems)
• Very little or no urination
• Severe skin rash or blistering

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food, but be consistent
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Take at the same time each day to help you remember
• Continue taking it even if you feel well, as blood pressure control needs regular use
• Do not stop suddenly without talking to your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat, light and moisture
• Keep in original packaging until use
• Keep out of reach of children and pets

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
