Uses and Benefits of TELISTA PLUS 40MG TABLET (TELMISARTAN 40 MG + ATORVASTATIN 10 MG)
This combination medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in patients who also have raised cholesterol levels, allowing both conditions to be managed with one tablet.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood pressure
- Lowering high cholesterol and LDL (bad cholesterol) levels
- Reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with both conditions
- Long-term management of cardiovascular risk factors
HOW IT WORKS
- Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels, helping vessels relax and lowering blood pressure
- Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme in the liver needed to make cholesterol, reducing LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while raising HDL (good cholesterol)
- Together they help protect the heart and blood vessels
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for emergency treatment of very high blood pressure
- Not a treatment for sudden chest pain or heart attack
- Not used for weight loss or diabetes control
- Not suitable for children
- Not to be used during pregnancy

- Unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially with fever (possible sign of muscle damage)
- Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (possible liver problem)
- Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, throat, difficulty breathing
- Severe dizziness or fainting
- Reduced urine output or swelling of feet/ankles
- Persistent or severe stomach pain

How to Use TELISTA PLUS 40MG TABLET (TELMISARTAN 40 MG + ATORVASTATIN 10 MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time every day
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as blood pressure and cholesterol problems often have no symptoms
- Do not stop the medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
- Try to maintain a consistent daily routine to avoid missed doses

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are pregnant or planning pregnancy
- Are breastfeeding
- Have active liver disease or unexplained persistent high liver enzymes
- Are allergic to telmisartan, atorvastatin, or any statins/ARBs
- Have severe kidney disease with bile duct blockage
