Uses and Benefits of TELLZY AH TABLET (TELMISARTAN 40MG+AMLODIPINE 5MG+ HCTZ 12.5MG)
This combination medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) that is not adequately controlled by a single medicine.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Long-term control of high blood pressure
- Used when blood pressure is not controlled by one or two medicines alone
- Helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems linked to high blood pressure
HOW IT WORKS
- Telmisartan blocks a hormone (angiotensin II) that tightens blood vessels, helping them relax
- Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels
- Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic (water pill) that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, reducing fluid volume in blood vessels
- Together these three actions lower blood pressure more effectively than a single medicine
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for immediate relief of a sudden dangerously high blood pressure episode
- Not a treatment for chest pain occurring suddenly (angina attack)
- Not used for general body swelling unrelated to blood pressure
- Not intended for use during pregnancy
