Uses and Benefits of TELLZY CH 80 TABLET (Telmisartan 80mg + Chlortalidone 12.5mg)
This combination medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults who need more than one medicine to control their blood pressure.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Control of high blood pressure
- Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough to control readings
- Long-term management of hypertension to reduce risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems
HOW IT WORKS
- Telmisartan blocks a chemical called angiotensin II that tightens blood vessels, helping them relax and widen
- Chlortalidone is a diuretic (water pill) that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, reducing blood volume
- Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a painkiller or fever medicine
- Not used for sudden severe rise in blood pressure (hypertensive emergency) needing immediate hospital care
- Not a treatment for heart attack or stroke that has already occurred
- Not to be used for weight loss despite its water-removing effect
