This composition is mainly used to treat high blood pressure, especially in patients who need more than one medicine to keep their blood pressure controlled.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when blood pressure is not controlled by a single blood pressure medicine
• Sometimes used to reduce strain on the heart in patients with high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Telmisartan relaxes blood vessels by blocking a hormone called angiotensin II
• Metoprolol slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contractions
• Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that removes excess salt and water through urine, lowering blood volume
• Together they lower blood pressure through three complementary mechanisms

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Take at the same time each day to maintain steady effect
• Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor, especially the metoprolol component, as sudden stopping can worsen heart conditions
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as blood pressure control needs continuous treatment

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are allergic to telmisartan, metoprolol, chlorthalidone, or sulfonamide-related drugs
• Have untreated adrenal gland tumour (pheochromocytoma)
