This combination medicine is mainly used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) that is not adequately controlled by a single medicine alone.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Control of high blood pressure
• Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough
• Long-term management of hypertension to reduce risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems

HOW IT WORKS

• Telmisartan blocks a hormone (angiotensin II) that tightens blood vessels, helping them relax and widen
• HCTZ is a diuretic (water pill) that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, reducing blood volume
• Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for sudden severe rise in blood pressure (hypertensive emergency)
• Not a painkiller or fever medicine
• Not used for immediate relief of chest pain or heart attack
• Not for use in pregnancy

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Irregular heartbeat, muscle weakness or cramps (possible sign of electrolyte imbalance)
• Severe skin reactions with blistering or peeling

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food, at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Do not stop taking suddenly without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well
• Continue regular blood pressure checks as advised

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep the tablet strip in its original packaging
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have severe kidney disease or are unable to pass urine
