Teneligliptin 20mg is prescribed to manage blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Controlling high blood sugar in type 2 diabetes
• Used alone or in combination with other anti-diabetic medicines like metformin or sulfonylureas
• Used as an addition to diet and exercise for better blood sugar control

HOW IT WORKS

• It blocks an enzyme called DPP-4 that breaks down natural hormones called incretins
• Higher incretin levels help the pancreas release more insulin after meals
• It also reduces the amount of sugar produced by the liver
• This helps lower blood sugar levels without causing major weight gain

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for type 1 diabetes
• Not used for diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious emergency condition

• Severe skin reactions like blistering or peeling skin
• Signs of severe low blood sugar such as excessive sweating, confusion, shakiness, or fainting
• Yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine (signs of liver problems)

HOW TO TAKE IT
