This medicine is used to treat conditions where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone naturally.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
- Managing thyroid hormone deficiency after thyroid surgery or radiation treatment
- Suppressing certain types of goitre as advised by a doctor
- Supporting management of thyroid cancer along with other treatments, as directed
HOW IT WORKS
- It replaces the natural thyroid hormone (thyroxine) that the body is not producing enough of
- This helps restore normal metabolic rate, energy levels, and body functions controlled by thyroid hormones
- It works gradually, so full benefit may take several weeks to be seen
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not used to treat obesity or for weight loss in people with normal thyroid function

How to Use THYROX 112MCG TABLET (THYROXINE 112MCG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- Take on an empty stomach, preferably 30-60 minutes before breakfast, with a full glass of water
- Take at the same time each day for consistent effect
- Avoid taking it with calcium, iron supplements, or antacids at the same time; leave a gap of a few hours
- Do not stop or change the dose on your own, even if you feel better
- Regular blood tests may be needed to check thyroid hormone levels and adjust dose
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to levothyroxine or any ingredient in the formulation
- Have untreated adrenal gland problems
- Have an untreated overactive thyroid (thyrotoxicosis)
- Have had a recent heart attack, unless your doctor specifically advises otherwise
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have heart disease, high blood pressure, or irregular heartbeat
- Have diabetes, as dose adjustments of diabetes medicines may be needed
- Have osteoporosis or weak bones
