This medicine is mainly used to treat hypothyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Replacing low thyroid hormone levels in hypothyroidism
- Managing thyroid hormone levels after thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine treatment
- Suppressing TSH levels in certain thyroid conditions, as advised by your doctor
- Supporting normal growth and development in children with congenital hypothyroidism, under specialist care
HOW IT WORKS
- It replaces the natural thyroid hormone (thyroxine) that your body is not producing enough of
- This helps restore normal metabolism, energy levels, and body functions that depend on thyroid hormone
- It works gradually, and full benefit may take several weeks

How to Use THYROX 25MCG TABLET (Thyroxine Sodium 25mcg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- Take on an empty stomach, preferably 30-60 minutes before breakfast, with a full glass of water
- Try to take it at the same time every day for consistent effect
- Avoid taking it together with calcium, iron supplements, or antacids; leave a gap of at least 4 hours
- Do not stop the medicine on your own, even if you feel better, unless your doctor advises
- Do not change the dose without consulting your doctor, as this is decided based on blood tests
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

- Store at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight
- Keep in the original packaging, tightly closed

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to thyroxine sodium or any ingredient in the formulation
- Have untreated overactive adrenal gland problems
- Have an untreated overactive thyroid (thyrotoxicosis), unless advised otherwise by your doctor
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have heart disease, high blood pressure, or irregular heartbeat
- Have diabetes, as insulin or other diabetes medicine doses may need adjustment
- Have adrenal gland or pituitary gland problems
