Uses and Benefits of TICAVIC 60MG TABLET (TICAGRELOR 60MG)
Ticagrelor 60mg is mainly used to lower the risk of future heart attacks and strokes in people who have a history of heart attack or acute coronary syndrome, especially after the first year of treatment.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- To reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death in patients with a history of heart attack
- Used long-term after the initial higher dose treatment phase
- Usually prescribed along with low-dose aspirin
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks a receptor on platelets called P2Y12
- This stops platelets from clumping together and forming clots
- Reduces the chance of blood clots blocking arteries supplying the heart or brain
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a painkiller and does not treat chest pain directly
- Not used for routine blood thinning without a heart-related indication
- Not a substitute for lifestyle changes like diet, exercise, and quitting smoking
- Not recommended for active bleeding conditions

- Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, or throat, or difficulty breathing
- Very slow heartbeat, fainting, or severe dizziness

How to Use TICAVIC 60MG TABLET (TICAGRELOR 60MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually twice a day
- Can be taken with or without food
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush unless advised by your doctor
- Continue taking it even if you feel well, unless your doctor tells you to stop
- Do not stop this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can increase the risk of heart attack
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep in the original pack until it is time to take the tablet
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to ticagrelor or any ingredient in the tablet
- Have active bleeding, such as a stomach ulcer with bleeding
- Have a history of bleeding in the brain
- Have severe liver disease
