This composition is mainly used to treat high blood pressure in adults who are not adequately controlled on a single medicine alone.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough to control levels
• Helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems linked to long-term high blood pressure

HOW IT WORKS

• Telmisartan blocks a hormone called angiotensin II, which causes blood vessels to narrow, so blood vessels relax and widen
• Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic (water pill) that makes the kidneys pass out more salt and water, reducing fluid volume in the blood vessels
• Together, they lower blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for treating sudden, very high blood pressure emergencies
• Not a painkiller or fever medicine
• Not used for treating infections
• Not recommended for use during pregnancy

• Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Irregular heartbeat, muscle weakness or cramps (signs of electrolyte imbalance)
• Severe skin rash or peeling

How to Use TIGATEL H 80MG TABLET (TELMISARTAN 80MG + HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE 12.5MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food, at the same time each day
• Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as blood pressure medicines work best when taken consistently
• Do not stop the medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
• Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Keep in the original packaging until ready to use

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Are pregnant or planning pregnancy

• Have severe difficulty passing urine (anuria)
