WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Managing high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Reducing episodes of chest pain (angina) in some patients
• Helping control heart rate along with blood pressure in patients who need both effects

HOW IT WORKS

• Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, making it easier for blood to flow and lowering blood pressure
• Metoprolol blocks certain stress hormone receptors on the heart, slowing the heart rate and reducing how hard the heart has to work
• Together, they provide better blood pressure and heart rate control than either medicine alone in some patients

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not a painkiller and does not treat general body pain
• It is not used to treat infections

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have certain heart block conditions unless a pacemaker is fitted
