Uses and Benefits of TONACT 10MG TABLET (ATORVASTATIN 10MG)

Atorvastatin 10mg is mainly used to treat high cholesterol and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides
• Raising HDL (good) cholesterol in some patients
• Reducing risk of heart attack, stroke and other heart problems in people at risk
• Managing cholesterol in people with diabetes or existing heart disease

HOW IT WORKS

• Blocks an enzyme in the liver called HMG-CoA reductase that is needed to make cholesterol
• Reduces the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver
• Helps the body remove cholesterol already in the blood
• Over time, helps prevent fatty deposits from building up in blood vessels

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not a treatment for acute chest pain or heart attack
• Not a painkiller
• Not used to treat infections
• Not a substitute for diet and exercise, but works alongside them
• Not recommended for immediate cholesterol emergencies

• Signs of allergic reaction such as swelling of face, lips, throat or difficulty breathing
• Unusual weakness or numbness

How to Use TONACT 10MG TABLET (ATORVASTATIN 10MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day
• Can be taken with or without food
• Try to take it at the same time each day for best effect
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
• Continue taking it even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs regular use
• Do not stop suddenly without talking to your doctor

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
• If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
• If you miss doses often, set a reminder or talk to your doctor

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
• Keep in the original pack until it is time to take it
• Keep out of reach of children and pets

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
