This composition is mainly prescribed for people with high cholesterol who also need Vitamin D supplementation.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides
- Raising HDL (good) cholesterol in some patients
- Reducing risk of heart attack and stroke in people with heart disease risk factors
- Correcting or preventing Vitamin D deficiency alongside cholesterol treatment
HOW IT WORKS
- Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in the liver that produces cholesterol
- This lowers the amount of cholesterol circulating in the blood
- Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb calcium and supports bone and muscle strength, which can be affected during statin use
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a treatment for acute chest pain or heart attack
- Not a substitute for a healthy diet, exercise or weight management
- Not meant for immediate relief of any symptom
- Not to be used for general vitamin deficiency without cholesterol issues unless prescribed

How to Use TONACT D 20MG TABLET (Atorvastatin 20mg + Vitamin D3 1000IU)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- Can be taken with or without food, but atorvastatin is often taken in the evening or night
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Avoid grapefruit juice as it may interact with atorvastatin
- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, since cholesterol control needs consistent use
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to atorvastatin, Vitamin D3 or any ingredient in this medicine
- Have active liver disease

- Have very high calcium levels in blood (hypercalcemia)

- Have a history of muscle disorders
