This combination medicine is used to treat mixed dyslipidemia, a condition where both cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood are higher than normal, increasing the risk of heart disease and pancreatitis.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol
- Lowering high triglyceride levels
- Raising HDL (good) cholesterol
- Reducing risk of heart disease in people with mixed lipid disorders
HOW IT WORKS
- Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in the liver that makes cholesterol
- Fenofibrate activates a receptor (PPAR-alpha) that helps break down fats and triglycerides
- Together they improve the overall lipid profile more than either alone in certain patients
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a treatment for acute heart attack or stroke

How to Use TONACT TG 20MG TABLET (Atorvastatin 20mg + Fenofibrate 160mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Can be taken with or without food, as directed by your doctor
- Try to take it at the same time each day for best results
- Continue taking it even if you feel well, as cholesterol control needs regular use
- Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember on the same day
- If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
