This combination medicine is mainly used to treat schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, and sometimes severe anxiety that has not responded to other treatments.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Managing symptoms of schizophrenia such as hallucinations, delusions and confused thinking
• Controlling severe anxiety, agitation or tension in certain cases
• Reducing muscle stiffness, tremors and restlessness caused by the antipsychotic component

HOW IT WORKS

• Trifluoperazine blocks certain dopamine receptors in the brain, helping to reduce psychotic symptoms
• Trihexyphenidyl blocks acetylcholine activity, which helps relax muscles and reduce stiffness or tremors
• Together they treat the mental symptoms while lowering the risk of movement-related side effects

• Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips or throat, or difficulty breathing
• Seizures or fainting

How to Use TRAZINE H TABLET (TRIFLUOPERAZINE + TRIHEXYPHENIDYL)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with water
• Can be taken with or after food to reduce stomach upset
• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says so
• Do not stop the medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor, as this can cause withdrawal-like symptoms
• Take it at the same time(s) each day to maintain steady effect

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
• Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one
