Uses and Benefits of TRAZINE H TABLET (TRIFLUOPERAZINE + TRIHEXYPHENIDYL)
This combination medicine is mainly used to treat schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, and sometimes severe anxiety that has not responded to other treatments.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Managing symptoms of schizophrenia such as hallucinations, delusions and confused thinking
- Controlling severe anxiety, agitation or tension in certain cases
- Reducing muscle stiffness, tremors and restlessness caused by the antipsychotic component
HOW IT WORKS
- Trifluoperazine blocks certain dopamine receptors in the brain, helping to reduce psychotic symptoms
- Trihexyphenidyl blocks acetylcholine activity, which helps relax muscles and reduce stiffness or tremors
- Together they treat the mental symptoms while lowering the risk of movement-related side effects
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for simple sleeplessness or mild everyday stress
- Not a treatment for depression alone

- Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips or throat, or difficulty breathing
- Seizures or fainting

How to Use TRAZINE H TABLET (TRIFLUOPERAZINE + TRIHEXYPHENIDYL)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with water
- Can be taken with or after food to reduce stomach upset
- Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew unless your doctor says so
- Do not stop the medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor, as this can cause withdrawal-like symptoms
- Take it at the same time(s) each day to maintain steady effect
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one
