WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Management of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders
- Control of severe anxiety, agitation and disturbed behaviour in some patients
- Reducing muscle stiffness, tremors and restlessness that can occur due to antipsychotic treatment
HOW IT WORKS
- Trifluoperazine and chlorpromazine act on brain chemicals (mainly dopamine) to reduce hallucinations, delusions and disturbed thinking
- Trihexyphenidyl works differently, blocking certain nerve signals to relax muscles and control tremors and stiffness caused by the antipsychotic component

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for simple stress, mild anxiety or everyday sleep problems
- Not a treatment for depression alone
