Uses and Benefits of TRILOSAR 6.25MG TABLET (Losartan 50mg + Amlodipine 5mg + Chlorthalidone 6.25mg)
This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure in adults who need more than one medicine to control it.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Long-term control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Used when blood pressure is not controlled by a single medicine
- May be used to reduce risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems related to high blood pressure
HOW IT WORKS
- Losartan blocks a hormone called angiotensin II, which relaxes blood vessels
- Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking calcium entry into vessel walls
- Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water, lowering blood volume
- Together, these three actions lower blood pressure more effectively than one medicine alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not a painkiller or fever medicine
- Not for emergency treatment of a sudden severe rise in blood pressure
- Not for treating infections
- Not a first-choice medicine for someone who has never tried single blood pressure medicines
