Uses and Benefits of TRINICALM FORTE TABLET (Chlorpromazine 50mg + Trifluoperazine 5mg + Benzhexol 2mg)
This medicine is used to treat psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, where a person may experience hallucinations, delusions, confused thinking, or agitation.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders
- Severe anxiety and agitation associated with psychosis
- Prevention of movement side effects (stiffness, tremors) caused by antipsychotic treatment
HOW IT WORKS
- Chlorpromazine and Trifluoperazine block certain dopamine receptors in the brain, helping to calm abnormal thoughts and behaviour
- Benzhexol works on a different pathway to relax muscles and reduce stiffness or tremor that antipsychotics can cause
- Together, the combination helps control psychotic symptoms while limiting movement-related side effects
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not a treatment for simple anxiety or sleep problems alone
- It is not used for depression without psychotic features
- It is not a painkiller or a general sedative for everyday use
- It should not be used without a doctor's prescription for self-diagnosed mental health issues
