Uses and Benefits of TRINICALM PLUS TABLET (Trifluoperazine 5mg + Benzhexol 2mg)
This medicine is prescribed for people with schizophrenia and other psychotic conditions where trifluoperazine is needed but its side effects on movement need to be controlled.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treatment of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders
- Control of severe anxiety or agitation in some cases, as advised by a psychiatrist
- Reducing stiffness, tremors and muscle spasms caused by trifluoperazine
HOW IT WORKS
- Trifluoperazine blocks dopamine receptors in the brain, helping to reduce hallucinations, delusions and disturbed thinking
- Benzhexol blocks acetylcholine action, which helps prevent or relieve muscle stiffness, tremors and other movement problems caused by trifluoperazine
- Together they help control psychotic symptoms while lowering the risk of drug-induced movement disorders
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for common anxiety or mild sleep problems
- Not used for depression alone
- Not used as a first-choice medicine for children unless specifically advised by a specialist
- Not a treatment for Parkinson's disease itself

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

- Yellowing of eyes or skin
- Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips or throat
- Fainting or irregular heartbeat
- Severe eye pain or sudden vision loss

How to Use TRINICALM PLUS TABLET (Trifluoperazine 5mg + Benzhexol 2mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or after food
- Swallow the tablet with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Do not increase or decrease the dose on your own
- Continue taking it regularly even if you feel better, unless your doctor tells you to stop
- It may take a few weeks to see the full benefit
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
- Do not store in the bathroom or near a sink
