Uses and Benefits of TRIOLMEZEST TABLET (OLMESARTAN 20MG+AMLODIPINE 5MG+HCTZ 12.5MG)
This composition is used to treat high blood pressure, especially in patients who need more than one medicine to keep it under control.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Control of high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Used when a single blood pressure medicine is not enough
- Helps reduce risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems linked to long-term high blood pressure
HOW IT WORKS
- Olmesartan blocks a hormone (angiotensin II) that tightens blood vessels, helping them relax
- Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking calcium entry into vessel walls
- Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, lowering fluid volume in blood vessels
- Together, these actions lower blood pressure more effectively than one medicine alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for immediate relief of a sudden dangerous rise in blood pressure (hypertensive emergency)
- Not a painkiller or fever medicine
- Not used for chest pain (angina) as a first-choice treatment
- Not meant for occasional or as-needed use; it is a regular preventive treatment
