Uses and Benefits of TRIOLSAR 40MG TABLET (Olmesartan 40mg + Amlodipine 5mg + Chlorthalidone 6.25mg)
This medicine is used mainly to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults who need more than one medicine to keep their blood pressure controlled.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Long-term control of high blood pressure
- Used when blood pressure is not controlled by a single blood pressure medicine
- Helps lower the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems linked to uncontrolled blood pressure
HOW IT WORKS
- Olmesartan blocks a hormone (angiotensin II) that tightens blood vessels, helping them relax
- Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking calcium entry into vessel walls
- Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water, reducing fluid volume in the body
- Together these three actions lower blood pressure more effectively than one medicine alone
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for emergency or sudden severe rise in blood pressure
- Not a painkiller or fever medicine
- Not used for treating infections
- Not recommended as a first medicine for newly diagnosed mild hypertension unless advised by a doctor
