Ursodeoxycholic Acid is mainly used for conditions related to the liver and gallbladder where bile does not flow or work normally.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Dissolving small cholesterol gallstones in people who cannot undergo surgery
- Treating primary biliary cholangitis, a chronic liver disease
- Managing liver problems caused by abnormal bile flow
- Sometimes used to prevent gallstones during rapid weight loss
HOW IT WORKS
- Reduces the amount of cholesterol released into bile
- Helps dissolve cholesterol-based gallstones over time
- Protects liver cells from damage caused by toxic bile acids
- Improves bile flow and liver function tests in chronic liver disease

How to Use UDILIV 450 TABLET (URSODEOXYCHOLIC ACID 450MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food to reduce stomach upset
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, do not crush or chew unless advised
- Take at the same time(s) each day for best results
- Continue for the full duration advised, even if you feel well, especially for gallstone dissolution
- Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
- If you miss doses often, inform your doctor as it may affect treatment outcome

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to ursodeoxycholic acid or bile acid medicines
- Have acute inflammation of the gallbladder or bile duct
- Have a gallbladder that does not show up on imaging (non-functioning gallbladder)
- Have blocked bile ducts
- Have calcified gallstones (as seen on X-ray)
