Tolterodine is mainly prescribed for people suffering from overactive bladder, a condition that causes sudden urges to urinate, frequent trips to the toilet, and sometimes involuntary leakage of urine.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating overactive bladder symptoms
- Reducing urinary urgency and frequency
- Reducing episodes of urge incontinence (accidental leakage)
HOW IT WORKS
- It blocks certain receptors in the bladder muscle called muscarinic receptors
- This relaxes the bladder and reduces involuntary contractions
- As a result, the bladder can hold more urine and the urge to go reduces
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It does not treat urinary tract infections
- It is not used for stress incontinence caused by weak pelvic muscles
- It is not a treatment for kidney or prostate disease
- It should not be used for children's bedwetting without specific medical advice

How to Use UROTEL-XL 4MG CAPSULE (TOLTERODINE)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily
- Swallow the tablet or capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew extended-release forms
- Can be taken with or without food, unless your doctor advises otherwise
- Try to take it at the same time each day to maintain steady effect
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

- Have myasthenia gravis or other severe muscle weakness disorders
