Uses and Benefits of UTICEPT TABLET (FLAVOXATE 200 MG)
Flavoxate 200 mg is prescribed to relieve uncomfortable urinary symptoms caused by inflammation or spasm of the urinary tract.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Relief of painful or difficult urination (dysuria)
- Relief of urgency to urinate
- Relief of frequent urination
- Relief of night-time urination (nocturia)
- Relief of bladder discomfort or spasm linked to cystitis, prostatitis, or urethritis
HOW IT WORKS
- It relaxes the smooth muscle of the bladder and urinary tract
- This reduces spasm and eases the urge to urinate frequently
- It has a direct calming effect on the muscle rather than treating infection
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It does not treat urinary tract infections directly and is not an antibiotic
- It is not used for kidney stones or blockage of urine flow
- It does not cure underlying prostate enlargement or bladder cancer
- It should not be used as the only treatment when infection is present without appropriate antibiotics
Your doctor may combine this medicine with other treatments depending on the actual cause of your urinary symptoms.
