This composition is mainly prescribed to control high blood pressure, especially when a single medicine alone is not enough to manage it.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Treating high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Managing blood pressure that is not fully controlled with one medicine alone
- Long-term blood pressure control to reduce risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems
HOW IT WORKS
- Valsartan blocks a chemical (angiotensin II) that narrows blood vessels, allowing them to relax and widen
- Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic (water pill) that helps kidneys remove extra salt and water from the body
- Together they reduce the pressure on artery walls and lower blood volume
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for sudden, emergency lowering of blood pressure
- Not a painkiller or fever medicine
- Not used to treat infections
- Not recommended for use in pregnancy

- Signs of kidney problems such as reduced urination or swelling in legs
- Irregular heartbeat or muscle weakness (may indicate potassium imbalance)
- Yellowing of skin or eyes
- Severe skin rash or blistering

How to Use VALENT -H TABLET (VALSARTAN 80 MG + HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE 12.5 MG)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
- Can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Do not stop taking it suddenly even if you feel well, as blood pressure may rise again
- Continue regular blood pressure checks and follow-up visits as advised
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep in the original pack until it is time to take it
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

- Are allergic to valsartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or other sulfonamide-derived medicines
- Have severe kidney or liver disease
- Are unable to pass urine (anuria)
