Uses and Benefits of VALENTAS 200MG Tablets (Sacubitril 97mg + Valsartan 103mg)
This combination medicine is mainly used to treat chronic heart failure with reduced heart pumping capacity, helping reduce hospital admissions and improve survival.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Long-term management of chronic heart failure
- Reducing the risk of hospitalisation due to worsening heart failure
- Improving symptoms like breathlessness and fatigue caused by heart failure
HOW IT WORKS
- Sacubitril blocks the breakdown of certain natural substances that help widen blood vessels and remove excess salt and water
- Valsartan blocks a hormone called angiotensin II that narrows blood vessels and raises blood pressure
- Together they reduce strain on the heart and improve its ability to pump blood
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- It is not used to treat acute chest pain or heart attack
- It is not a painkiller or used for general body swelling unrelated to heart failure
- It is not used for treating high blood pressure alone as a first-choice medicine
- It is not a cure for heart failure; it helps manage the condition long-term
