Uses and Benefits of VELTAM PLUS TABLET (Tamsulosin 0.4mg + Dutasteride 0.5mg)

This composition is used to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH) in men, such as difficulty urinating, weak urine flow, and frequent urination, especially at night.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Treating moderate to severe symptoms of enlarged prostate
• Improving urine flow in men with BPH
• Reducing the risk of acute urinary retention and need for prostate surgery over the long term

HOW IT WORKS

• Tamsulosin relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to pass urine
• Dutasteride blocks an enzyme that converts testosterone into a hormone that enlarges the prostate, helping shrink it gradually
• Together they relieve symptoms faster and also reduce prostate size over months

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• Not used for prostate cancer treatment
• Not used for urinary tract infections
• Not meant for use in women or children
• Not a substitute for emergency treatment if you are unable to pass urine at all

• Symptoms of liver problems such as yellowing of eyes/skin, dark urine, or severe stomach pain

How to Use VELTAM PLUS TABLET (Tamsulosin 0.4mg + Dutasteride 0.5mg)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush, chew, or open it
• Take about half an hour after the same meal each day, at the same time
• Do not stop the medicine on your own even if symptoms improve, as prostate shrinkage takes months

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time
• Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
• If you miss doses often, tell your doctor

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct heat and sunlight
• Keep in the original blister pack until ready to use
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack
• Pregnant women should avoid handling leaking or broken capsules

• Warfarin or other blood thinners
