Uses and Benefits of VOLIBO M 0.2MG TABLET (Voglibose 0.2mg + Metformin 500mg)
This composition is used mainly to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially to control blood sugar spikes after meals.
WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR
- Controlling high blood sugar in type 2 diabetes
- Managing after-meal (postprandial) blood sugar rise
- Used along with diet and exercise for better sugar control
- Sometimes added when a single diabetes medicine is not enough
HOW IT WORKS
- Voglibose delays digestion of carbohydrates, reducing sudden sugar spikes after food
- Metformin decreases sugar production in the liver
- Metformin also improves how the body's cells use insulin
- Together they help maintain steadier blood sugar levels throughout the day
WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR
- Not used for type 1 diabetes
- Not used for diabetic ketoacidosis, an emergency condition
- Not a treatment for weight loss on its own
- Not meant for occasional or one-time high sugar readings without a doctor's diagnosis

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS — STOP AND SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY
- Signs of lactic acidosis such as unusual muscle pain, difficulty breathing, extreme tiredness, or stomach pain with vomiting
- Signs of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) such as sweating, shakiness, confusion, or fainting
- Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice)
- Severe allergic reaction with swelling of face, lips, or throat, or difficulty breathing
- Persistent vomiting or severe diarrhoea leading to dehydration

How to Use VOLIBO M 0.2MG TABLET (Voglibose 0.2mg + Metformin 500mg)
HOW TO TAKE IT
- Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually with the first bite of each main meal
- Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew unless advised
- Do not skip meals after taking this medicine as it can cause low blood sugar
- Continue to follow diet and exercise advice given by your doctor
- Do not stop or change the dose on your own even if you feel better
IF YOU MISS A DOSE
- Take it with your next meal if you remember in time
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one
- Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one
- If you miss doses often, inform your doctor
STORAGE
- Store at room temperature, away from heat and direct sunlight
- Keep in a dry place, away from moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU
- Are allergic to voglibose, metformin, or any ingredient in the tablet
- Have severe kidney disease
- Have severe liver disease
- Have a history of lactic acidosis
- Have an inflammatory bowel disease or intestinal blockage
- Have a serious infection, recent heart attack, or severe dehydration
TELL YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING IF YOU
- Have any kidney or liver problems
- Are scheduled for surgery or an X-ray/scan involving contrast dye
- Drink alcohol regularly
- Are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
- Have heart or lung conditions
- Are elderly or have a poor diet

- Diuretics (water tablets)
