Voriconazole 200mg is used to treat serious and invasive fungal infections, especially in patients with weak immunity.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Invasive aspergillosis, a serious fungal lung infection
• Serious infections caused by Candida species, including in the bloodstream
• Fungal infections in patients who cannot take other antifungal medicines
• Certain other severe fungal infections as decided by your doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Voriconazole blocks an enzyme that fungi need to build their cell membrane
• This weakens the fungal cell wall and stops the fungus from growing and spreading
• It helps the body's immune system clear the infection over time

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It does not treat bacterial or viral infections such as cold, flu, or common bacterial infections
• It is not used for minor skin or nail fungal infections that can be treated with creams

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually one hour before or one hour after a meal
• Swallow the tablet with a full glass of water
• Do not crush or chew unless your doctor tells you to
• Complete the full course even if you feel better, unless your doctor advises otherwise
• Avoid strong sunlight exposure while on this medicine as it can increase skin sensitivity

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take the missed dose as soon as you remember
• If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your normal schedule
