Rivaroxaban 10mg is mainly used to prevent and treat blood clots in veins, especially in the legs and lungs.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after hip or knee replacement surgery
• Treatment and prevention of recurrent DVT and pulmonary embolism (in appropriate lower-dose continuation therapy)
• Reducing risk of clot-related complications in certain patients as advised by a doctor

HOW IT WORKS

• Rivaroxaban blocks a clotting factor called Factor Xa
• This reduces the blood's ability to form clots
• It helps prevent new clots and stops existing ones from getting bigger

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

HOW TO TAKE IT
