Uses and Benefits of XIDORIN TABLET (MIDODRINE 2.5MG)

Midodrine is used to treat symptomatic low blood pressure, especially when it causes dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting on standing up.

WHAT THIS MEDICINE IS USED FOR

• Orthostatic (postural) hypotension causing dizziness or fainting
• Low blood pressure related to certain nerve or autonomic disorders
• Low blood pressure due to some chronic illnesses affecting blood pressure control

HOW IT WORKS

• It acts on blood vessel walls to make them narrower
• This increases blood pressure and improves blood flow when standing
• Effect is temporary and needs repeated dosing through the day as directed

WHAT IT IS NOT USED FOR

• It is not used for general high blood pressure
• It is not a treatment for shock or emergency low blood pressure in hospital settings
• It is not meant for occasional mild dizziness not linked to a diagnosed blood pressure condition
• It should not be used without a doctor's evaluation of the cause of low blood pressure

How to Use XIDORIN TABLET (MIDODRINE 2.5MG)

HOW TO TAKE IT

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually several times during the day
• Take doses during waking hours, spaced as advised, and avoid taking a dose close to bedtime
• Do not lie down for a few hours after taking a dose; sit or remain upright
• Take with or without food, as advised by your doctor
• Do not increase or stop the dose on your own

IF YOU MISS A DOSE

• Take it as soon as you remember, unless it is close to your next dose
• Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one
• If you are unsure, check with your doctor or pharmacist

STORAGE

• Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU

• Have severe heart disease or a history of heart attack

• Have pheochromocytoma or thyrotoxicosis
